The Chief Executive of GRIDCo received representatives of technology companies, MTN and C-Squared, when they recently paid a courtesy call on him and a section of Management.

MTN, one of Ghana’s leading multi-national corporations and mobile telecommunications provider and C-Squared, a tech and fibre infrastructure company have had collaborative business partnerships with GRIDCo aimed at leveraging GRIDCo’s telecom infrastructure.

The MTN Team was led by Chief Technical Officer (CTO), Reuben Opata, who expressed gratitude to GRIDCo’s C.E., Ing. Frank Otchere and Management for the engagement. Discussions centered around MTN’s interest in leasing dark cores in GRIDCo’s Telecom infrastructure across Ghana to expand data access to Ghanaians.

MTN is an existing customer of GRIDCo, seeking to expand the scope of their mobile telecoms operations. They explained that, their Optical Ground Wire infrastructure presents as the superior option on the Backbone Fiber Market, because of the limited risk of damage, compared to underground fibre cable systems which are routinely damaged by road construction and other actions. The cost of such major cable damage runs into millions of dollars, while there is significant revenue loss due to interruption of data services.

The GRIDCo-MTN team expressed optimism that these discussions are the start of a promising future of co-operative partnership for the two companies.

In a related development, representatives of C-Squared, led by Ian Paterson (Group CEO) congratulated Ing. Frank Otchere on his appointment as Chief Executive and reaffirmed the long-standing relationship between the two organisations. The visit provided an opportunity for the C-Squared delegation to formally extend their best wishes to the Chief Executive upon assuming leadership of the Company. They expressed confidence in his ability to steer GRIDCo towards continued growth and success and pledged their support in advancing shared objectives.

Beyond the congratulatory visit, discussions focused on strengthening the existing partnership between GRIDCo and C-Squared. Both parties explored opportunities to deepen collaboration in areas of mutual interest and underscored the importance of fostering strategic partnerships that contribute to innovation, operational excellence, and the continued development of critical infrastructure.

The Chief Executive, Ing. Otchere expressed appreciation to the C-Squared team for the visit and their kind gesture. He reaffirmed GRIDCo’s commitment to building strong partnerships with stakeholders, and emphasised the Company’s readiness to explore new avenues of collaboration that deliver mutual value and support the reliable provision of electricity services. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both organisations expressing optimism about future engagements and a shared commitment to sustaining a productive and mutually beneficial partnership.
