Following the Energy and Green Transition Minister’s visit to the Ashaiman site, where GRIDCo engineers are working to restore the damaged transmission tower, the Minister has given encroachers a one-month notice to evacuate GRIDCo’s Right-of -Way (RoW).
A nationwide public awareness campaign will now precede the evacuation exercise, to remind communities of the dangers of encroachment and the need to keep transmission corridors clear.
Citizens have an important role to play in this effort. As you move around the country, please remain observant and report any new encroachment or illegal activity within GRIDCo’s RoW through the appropriate channels (Director, Land Management, Security, Area Managers, and the Corporate Communications Section).
Whether it is a new or old structure, trading activity, farming or any other unauthorised use, do not ignore it. Early information can help GRIDCo act before a situation becomes a safety risk.
Keeping the RoW clear is a shared responsibility. Let us all be good ambassadors for GRIDCo and help protect our people, our infrastructure and the national grid.
