Ing. Hussaini Adams was appointed Director System Operations Department (SOD) at Ghana Grid Company LTD. in April 2025.

He is responsible for the operation and management of the National Interconnected Transmission System (NITS) and the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM).

Prior to his current appointment, he served as Director, Southern Network Department (SND) from March 1, 2024 to April 21, 2025.

Ing. Adams has over 28 years of working experience in the power system, both as a Field Engineer and Administrator. He commenced his career with the Transmission Systems Department of the Volta River Authority (VRA) in 1996, rising from the ranks of Assistant Protection & Control (P & C) Engineer to a Principal P & C Engineer.

He subsequently joined the Ghana Grid Company LTD. (GRIDCo) at its inception on August 1, 2008, as a Principal P & C Engineer at Volta Area, Tema now split into the Accra and Tema Operational Areas.

Since his appointment at GRIDCo, Ing. Adams has held a multiplicity of roles in GRIDCo. He was the Manager, Technical & Business Support under the then Southern Network Services (SNS) Department from December 2011 to July 2018. He later served as the Manager for the Tema Area from July 2018 to July 2020 and Manager for Accra Area from July 2020 to February 2022. He was also Manager, Network Maintenance, SND from March 2022 to February 2024.

He holds an MSc. Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Moa (Universidad de Moa), Cuba; and Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

Ing. Hussaini Adams is a Member of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE).
