PIUS AYEMVA AVIO was appointed Director, Finance of GRIDCo on 2 February 2026. In this role, he leads the development of financial strategies that support GRIDCo’s operational excellence, long term sustainability, and corporate growth agenda.

Mr. Avio brings over two decades of professional experience spanning the Volta River Authority (VRA) and GRIDCo, during which he has held four major managerial positions over a fourteen year period. He began his GRIDCo leadership journey as Manager, Financial Accounting in 2011. He subsequently served as: Manager, Business Development & Strategy, GRIDTel, Manager, GRIDConsult and Manager, Commercial Finance & Tax

Before joining VRA in 2002, he worked as Project Accountant for FOSADEP, an NGO under the Catholic Bishop Secretariat in Bolgatanga.

Mr. Avio holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Coast, an Executive MBA (Finance) from the University of Ghana Business School, an MA in Human Resource Management from the University of Cape Coast, an LLB from Central University, and an LLM in Tax Law, Policy & Practice from the University of Ghana School of Law.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana), a Chartered Tax Practitioner, and a Barrister-at-Law.
