PRESTEA

The Chief Executive, Ing. Ebenezer Kofi Essienyi and his Management Team undertook the 3rd Leg of its Area Tour to the Prestea and Takoradi Operational Areas; both in the Western Region.

In Prestea, during preliminary remarks, Ing. Mark Baah, Director, Southern Network Department said, “Thank you very much for the hard work that you put in to ensure that this side of the network remains stable to ensure that power export to Cote D’Ivoire is stable”. Ing. Baah also extended appreciation to the Prestea Area for the massive turnout to pay their last respect to their beloved colleague, the late Ing. Ebenezer Odoom-Sagoe, who had just been laid to rest.

The CE before commencing, asked for a minute’s silence for Ing. Odoom-Sagoe whose passing had “hit the Prestea Area hard”. Ing. Essienyi also commended the Area for their support of the family of Ing. Odoom-Sagoe and urged them to periodically extend emotional support to the family.

The Prestea Area concerns were presented by Mr. Joseph Boafo Erzuah who referenced health & well-being, provision of project vehicles, overtime restitution and appraisals for the CE and Management’s redress.

TAKORADI

At the Takoradi Operational Area, Chief Executive, Ing. Ebenezer Kofi Essienyi expressed his appreciation to the team for their efforts saying, “Takoradi will remain important in the scheme of things as a hub, and your importance can’t be understated partly because of the challenging distances you have to travel – to get your work done. Management will keep doing what we can, to keep the system and network going.”

On behalf of the Takoradi Team, Mr. Samuel Odjatey Kudjo and Bright Timothy Koomson addressed Management. The issues ranged from the need to address operational issues at Aboadzi, the need to replace a transformer at Cape Coast, Training, Safety Management for Staff, and suggestions to augment GRIDCo’s finances.

CE also asked for a minute’s silence to remember Ing. Ebenezer Odoom-Sagoe. Ing. Essienyi acknowledged the impact of the loss of colleagues in the Takoradi Area and offered to support the Area through these challenging times.
